It is often said that two people become “one” when they are in a relationship, but this phrase or concept is often misunderstood by many people. The idea behind this is that you become one team. And, a team consists of different people with different personalities and strengths that work towards some common goals. If you lose yourself in a relationship, and begin to conform to your partner’s expectations and demands, your team can become weak. So, here are some ways;

1. Change but don’t lose

Small changes are healthy for a relationship, and are encouraged all the time. If you will feel that you will be happy and content with the changes you make in yourself, or the promises that you make to your partner for your relationship, then it is fine. But, it does not mean changing your entire personality. Not being able to recognise yourself in a few years, or as soon as a few months in the relationship, can be damaging for you and your bond. Making your partner happy is one thing, but doing everything to please him or her is not a good idea.

The simple agony of sharing Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year with your birthday, makes you not to look forward to your birthday every year. The things below are things you will understand and relate to.

1. If your birthday is on a famous holiday, it is never just about you.

2. If it is on Christmas day, you might as well just be invisible.

3. You have tried to get people you know to modify their holidays, at least enough to accommodate your birthday.

4. If you express any resentment toward sharing celebrations with the holiday, people make you feel like a total monster.

In a statement issued today, President Jonathan, visiting the Presidential palace in Chad, encouraged cooperation between both Chad and Nigeria in order to best fight the Boko Haram menace.

After speaking privately with Chadian President Idris Deby Itno, President Jonathan told the press that this partnership was particularly important because militants have been receiving support and influence from outside the African continent. Strategic partnerships, he told reporters, are necessary to overcome terrorism.

"If you look at the economies of Nigeria and Chad both are linked. The Boko Haram people don't take permission to move from Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Nigeria.

The Ugandan maid who was captured on camera torturing a toddler who was previously facing charges for torture, is now facing an attempted murder charge.

Jolly Tumuhirwe, the 22-year-old maid is currently in police custody at Luzira prison under Section 41 of the country’s Anti-Torture Act and will re-appear in court on December 8th, according to Sahara Reporters.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson stated that the maid confessed to torturing the child, and was subsequently subjected to a mental evaluation. Results revealed that she was “a person of sound mind.”

The child, Arnella Kamanzi, who is one and a half years old, is said to be recovering, and in good spirits.

NYSC Members in FCT Protest Over Non-payment of 6 Months’ Allowances

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Kuje Area Council on Monday staged a protest over the inability of the council to pay six months allowances owed them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the corps members, numbering about 60, barricaded the entrance of the council secretariat displying placards on which were scripted “pay us our six months allowances; we are hungry and starving.”

Edna Akpan, the leader of the corp members, told NAN that they had earlier written to the Kuje Area Council authorities demanding that their allowances be paid but the issue was not given the desired attention.

“We have not been paid for over six months and we don’t have good mattresses at the Corpers’ Lodge; we are starving in this place.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned two suspected fraudsters,Gabriel Osereme Xavi (a.k.a. Collins Page) and Aikhaituamen Best Junior Cyril, before Justice E.F. Ikponmwen of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence. While Xavi was slammed with a 12-count charge, Aikhaituamen was docked on 6-count charge.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the two-count terrorism charge filed against Aminu Ogwuche, the alleged Nyanya bus station bomber.

The court struck out the charges against Mr. Ogwuche on Monday, after months of trial for the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 innocent Nigerians.

And why did the court strike out the case? The judge hinged his decision on lack of diligent prosecution by agents of the Federal Government who are prosecuting the case against Ogwuche.

Okupe Fires Back At Obasanjo… Jonathan Is Nigeria’s Best Leader

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo over the weekend at an event rated the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan as below average. The statement which obviously didn’t go down well with the present Government forced his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe to release a statement to that effect.

“Our attention has been drawn to comments made by a former President of this country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, regarding the performance of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

A student of Computer Science Department of University of Calabar name withheld almost lost his sight after a lecturer known as Chris Otu in the Department of Economics, University of Calabar stabbed him with his-car key during lecture hour.

According to an eye-withness Mr Otu was supposed to have a class with year 3 students of Computer Science Department by 10.am, today 21 Nov. but he failed to appear after keeping the students waiting for two hours, he later appeared by 12-noon.

After the lecturer’s arrival, the waiting students assembled themselves at the lecture venue New CES building room 7 behind Unical Library.

Tens of thousands of people marched through Mexico City's main square yesterday to demand the return of 43 missing male students - and the protest ended with masked protesters and police clashing while the busy Plaza de la Constitución was emptying.

Many marchers carried "mourning" flags with Mexico's red and green national colors substituted with black stripes to pay tribute to the young men who vanished from a rural college after a raid by police on 26 September.

The day is usually known for marking the civil war movement called "Revolucion Mexicana" however the anger and frustration of the nation over the regular disappearances of young people overshadowed the annual event.

"The entire country is outraged," said stay-at-home mother Nora Jaime.

"It is not just them. There are thousands of disappeared, thousands of clandestine graves, thousands of mothers who don't know where their children are."

A boyfriend was stabbed nine times in the street after he asked a man to stop catcalling his girlfriend.

Ben Schwartz, 31, was walking home from a party with girlfriend Miyoko Moody when a man started harassing the pair, making two passes at Ms Moody.

But when Mr Schwartz asked the man to stop, he began following the couple before launching himself at the 31-year-old, stabbing him in the face, neck, arms and back.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

Murdered beauty queen Miss Honduras was killed

Murdered Miss Honduras Maria Jose Alvaro was killed as she tried to defend her elder sister by shielding her with her own body, it emerged today.

The Miss World contestant, 19, is believed to have selflessly thrown herself on top of her sister Sofia, 23, as she lay wounded after being shot first.

Sofia's boyfriend Plutarco Antonio Ruiz, 29, is accused of killing the sisters in a fit of jealousy after seeing his girlfriend dance with another man at a party at an upmarket spa resort.

Police this week revealed that beauty queen Maria, who would have been in London today competing in the Miss World Pageant, died after being shot twice in the back.

Until now it had been reported that Maria was running away from her killer after seeing her sister gunned down when she was fatally shot.

But a source close to police investigating the murder told MailOnline she had in fact instinctively thrown her body on top of her sister's to try to protect her from the gunman.

20-Year Old Girl Takes Her Life After 19-Year Old Lover Commits Suicide (Pics)

A young lady, Becky Tait, 20, has been reported to have killed herself in UK by stepping in front of a train. Becky’s friends and family will be attending her burial at St Michael’s Church, Stone, this afternoon, after Becky took her own life because she couldn’t live without her partner who committed suicide in a similar way two months ago.

Becky was said to be inconsolable, after Phil James, 19, passed away and decided to end it too. Too sad. Really sad how young people see life these days. R.I.P…See happy photos of them after the cut.

Youth Corp members serving in Rivers state are currently staging a protest at the NYSC Rivers camp, over nonpayment of allowance. The Corpers have barricaded the gate of the NYSC camp. The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Sanni Danladi, who was impeached by the state House of Assembly in October 2012.

In a unanimous judgment, the Supreme Court held that the impeachment panel set up by the House of Assembly to investigate the allegations against Danladi violated his rights to fair hearing.

The impeachment panel was said to have gone ahead with its proceedings without hearing Danladi and recommended his impeachment, while the panel snubbed his court papers which he served on it to challenge its composition.

United States President, Barack Obama, has unveiled a new immigration plan that will protect over four million undocumented immigrants from deportation. However, the plan is causing causing controversy, because he plans to implement it without consent from the Congress, and despite opposition from many including Republicans.

Here’s what the new immigration plan entails, as reported by CNN:

Offering papers and work authorization to up to four million people who are undocumented parents of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, as long as they have lived in the U.S. for five years or longer
The changes will offer those who qualify the chance to stay temporarily in the country for three years, as long as they pass background checks and pay back taxes

According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, three female police officers from Oregbeni Police Station were beaten and stripped naked yesterday. This happened when the police officers went to arrest a tenant at Oregbeni Quarters In Benin.

It was learned that trouble started when the tenant insisted on taking her bath before going to the police station, but the police officers said she should follow them.

A fracas was said to have ensued and other residents in the area joined the tenant to beat and strip the police officers.

The landlady, identified as Mrs. Okebuse, said she invited the police because she had given the tenants quit notice.

Baby boy born with two set of limbs is causing an uproar in Baripur, East India. People are trooping in to see the god-baby (because Hindu gods have multiple limbs).

Patience Jonathan shuns Dickson at her husband’s birthday

The battle has commenced. Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, tactically avoided the Bayelsa State delegation, led by Governor Seriake Dickson, who came to rejoice with the President on his 57th birthday in Abuja on Thursday.

No member of the National Assembly from the state was also on the delegation.

There has been no love lost between she and the governor over an alleged plan by Mrs. Jonathan to stop Mr. Dickson from being re-elected as the state governor.

Reports have it that the federal legislators had formed a strong alliance to counter the moves by the governor and his loyalists to re-elect them in the 2015, through zoning, allegedly orchestrated by Dickson.

President Goodluck Jonathan has proposed to cut fuel subsidies in half in a bid to reduce spending after a retreat in global crude prices.

According to David Mark, the Senate President, the government plans to reduce fuel subsidies next year to N458.6 billion ($ 2.6 billion) from N971.1 billion , citing a revised 2015 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper submitted by President Jonathan.

The global collapse in oil prices is biting into Nigeria’s income, 70 percent of which comes from crude exports. Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala plans to cut expenditure by 6 percent next year and lower the budgeted benchmark oil price to $ 73 per barrel, from $ 77.5 this year.

Kerosene subsidies will also be cut to N156 billion, from N250 billion, according to the proposal.

Boko Haram kills 45 in fresh attacks in Borno state

No fewer than 45 people were killed by Boko Haram members in an attack on Azaya Kura village in the Mafa local government area of Borno state on Wednesday November 19th.

According to residents of the village who fled to Maiduguri the state capital for safety, the sect members arrived their village at about 12noon on motorcycles, shooting anyone in sight

“So far, 45 men have been killed and there are others that died in the bushes as a result of bleeding from bullet wounds,” said one resident

Confirming the attack, the caretaker of Mafa Local Government area, Shettima Lawan described it as wicked and appealed to the federal government to act fast in helping them

“How can some people be so wicked to kill innocent people, 45 people at once without any confrontation? There is no compulsion in religion and I am still searching for the motive behind mass killing and destruction by some people under the guise of entrenching certain religion. I wish to appeal to the Federal Government to take urgent steps and rescue our people from imminent extinction.” he said

Fayose replies Oshiomhole: “Go and Die” Governor should keep shut!

Lol. These our leaders eh! From jumping the fence to now trading words. I don’t know exactly what’s going on between these two governors – Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State. Yesterday Governor Oshiomole blasted Governor Fayose saying;

“If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes.”

Biko what is capering neophytes? Anyway, governor Fayose has replied Oshiomhole via his Special Assistant on New Media. See the press statement below:

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has told the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole to keep his mouth shut and stop meddling in Ekiti State issues.

The governor said Oshiomhole lacked moral rights to comment on happenings in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, having locked up the Edo State House of Assembly for over six months.

Clearly some House of Reps members were not happy that David Mark left Senate chamber and came into the House chamber after Speaker Aminu Tambuwal gained access. But what he really assaulted?

Kwankwaso Hails Deputy Minority Leader For Jumping National Assembly Gate Yesterday

Former Kano State Governor, Mohammed Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has hailed the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Rep. Suleiman Abdulrahaman Kawu Sumail for jumping the National Assembly gate yesterday when they were prevented from gaining access into the complex by security operatives.

Kwankwaso took to his twitter page where he praised him;

Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed that his mother and relatives, are using ‘juju’ (witchcraft) to end his football career prematuredly.

The Togo and Tottenham Hotspurs striker, has stayed away from his family including his mother, who he went with to receive the Africa Footballer of the Year award in Lagos.
“As at now, our mother is selling polythene bags, padlocks and other things on the (Ghana/Togo) border. Our mother has not seen him for more than a year and he rejects her calls anytime. Our mother is not calling him for his money, she just wants to see him because she loves him very much,” Adebayor’s sister, Maggie told Peace FM.
However, Adebayor, speaking to the same radio station, insisted that he cut off from his family, because they are plotting evil against him.

“How can I talk to a mother who together with my sisters have been plotting juju against me?” he fired back.

It is a sharp contrast to the comments he provided to Daily Mail in 2009, where he said: “At the airport my mum said, ‘Go to France and you can change the way this family lives.’ She knew that if I succeeded in football we could have a better life and finally get out of poverty. At 15 I wasn’t just playing for my own glory, I was playing for the sake of my family.”

So there were chaos in the National Assembly complex this morning as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and other members of the House were denied access to the assembly complex by security officials.

Reports say teargas canisters were fired by the police to stop some members from gaining access into the assembly complex. It was so messy, and the pictures say it all. President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday told a gathering of the Peoples Democratic Party leaders in the Presidential Villa, Abuja that he hardly get those things he look forward to in his life.

Jonathan, who boasted that no party would defeat the PDP during the 2015 polls said sometimes, things that he did not think about are the ones he gets.

In his words, “In my own life, the things I look for I hardly get. It’s what I don’t even think about that I get sometimes. I believe most of you will smile. But collectively, first and foremost, let us unite the party and work together for our collective victory.”

The President spoke while hosting members of the Presidential Declaration Committee led by a former Minister of Defence, Dr. Haliru Bello, to a luncheon. He thereafter dissolved the committee.

Our ladies are acting crazy, but these ones are the worst I’ve seen in recent times. The took off their clothes inside a poll of water, messing up with themselves and one of them recorded the shameful act.

4. Every time the president walks on a street in Victoria Island, the whole of Lagos feels it.

5. When it comes to gala and lacasera, we are sure they have the highest selling record in Lagos.

So many ladies don’t know how to answer this question, while some don’t even have the slightest idea of what we are talking about. Check out the few questions below;

To say the least, the curious frequency with which some commanders and their troops run away from the battlefield and abandon their weapons to the Boko Haram terrorists has become a national embarrassment. More so when it is now becoming clearer that these soldiers flee not because they were poorly equipped as we were made to believe in the past.

Politics aside, the military high command particularly the Chief of Defense Staff and the Chief of Army Staff, if they are already not, should be made uncomfortable by this embarrassing development except there is something they know that the ordinary citizens don’t.

If hunters and members of the civilian JTF from these areas- Mubi and parts of Borno, could gallantly engage and, outright, defeat Boko Haram fighters without the sophisticated equipment and training our soldiers had, then obviously there is something wrong and somebody should be held responsible for this national embarrassment of our soldiers fleeing everyday from tag-ragged terrorists…

Hoodlums snatch Oyo PDP aspirant’s nomination form, credentials

On Wednesday, as hoodlums snatched an envelope containing photocopies of the nomination and expression of interest forms, as well as original copies of credentials belonging to a House of Representatives’ aspirant, Kabiru Adesokan from him at the party secretariat, Dandaru, Ibadan..The shocked aspirant told Nigerian Tribune:

“I am here to undergo a screening as requested by the party. As I was alighting from my car, a guy just came from nowhere and snatched the envelope I was holding. The envelope contained original copies of my credentials, photocopies of my nomination and expression of interest forms, my voter card, party membership card and other important documents.I learnt the guy who snatched the documents had been arrested by the police and I am going to the station now to make a formal report.

“I do not think politics should be played this way, I believe it is a game that should be played maturely.”
