Love has been defined by so many
people as different things. Love is a genuine affection towards someone. Love
is caring and protecting something or someone. Love is a positive emotion
towards someone or somebody. Love is this, love is that? If we really consider
it, love cannot be defined but when you eventually fall in love you should know
what love does and what it doesn’t do. The best description of love has been
given in 1 Corinthians chapter13; vs4-8. Not taking you to church but just read
first and maybe you’d feel the same way.
Does not act improperly; is not selfish
Is not provoked; does not keep record of wrongs
Finds no joy in unrighteousness,
But rejoices in the truth
Bears all things, believes all things
Hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.
But as for prophecies, they will come to an end;
As for languages they would cease;
As for knowledge, it will come to an end.
Love is patient; love is kind
Love does not envy;
Is not boastful; is not conceited;
Love does not envy;
Is not boastful; is not conceited;
Does not act improperly; is not selfish
Is not provoked; does not keep record of wrongs
Finds no joy in unrighteousness,
But rejoices in the truth
Bears all things, believes all things
Hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.
But as for prophecies, they will come to an end;
As for languages they would cease;
As for knowledge, it will come to an end.
Now a quick question, do you love?
Or have you been loved in the context of this passage? Everybody needs to be
loved and honestly, we shouldn’t lack it at all. So just to brighten up your
day, love just like the passage asks us to and probably you’d understand a love
that supersedes all the feelings you’ve ever encountered.
The thing about love is that love
loves all that love loves.
